He studied from 1892 to 1895 at the Brera Academy in Milan, taking courses in painting under Cesare Tallone, those in sculpture and engraving under Ernesto Bazzaro, and finally those in perspective under Giuseppe Mentessi.
Between 1895 and 1900 he devoted himself to the reproduction of illuminated manuscripts.
After World War I he began to exhibit his landscapes, especially urban landscapes of old Milan, in group exhibitions. He devoted himself to depicting wet landscapes of Milan's canals and Venetian lagoons.
After his death, he was buried at Milan's Monumental Cemetery.
The City of Milan after his death named a street after him.
