- The best painting by Carlota Ferral and Ferrari, one of the first women who distinguished themselves in the practice of Fine Arts in Spain, awarded at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of 1901, and also presented and awarded at the National Agricultural Exhibition of Valladolid, of which a copy of the diploma obtained is preserved. Disciple of Manuel Prieto, painter and teacher who, with Sebastián Gessa, was the main defender of female talent for the Fine Arts and contemporary of artists of the stature of Julia Alcayde, Carlota Rosales, Fernanda Francés, María Luisa de la Riva. , or María Luisa Puiggener, Carlota Fereal reached a very high level in the Spanish artistic community at the beginning of the century then disappeared from the public scene after her marriage, as required by the morality of the time. The artist, once retired from painting, and today Mrs. Ferrari, signed several of her works with her married name, which is why this painting appears signed in different places in the original 1901 photograph and in the current photography. You can see the stain with which the original signature was covered in the lower right corner (Carlota Ferral) and the new one, dating from around 1908, the year of her marriage to Emilio Ferrari, in the lower left corner.
