REMINGTON RIDER MAGAZINE PISTOL pistol in 32 extra short caliber, period 1871-1888, 19th century Octagonal barrel then round in the mouth with rifled interior with ammunition magazine under the barrel, which can hold up to 5 cartridges in 32RF extra short caliber. The cocking lever is located just in front of the hammer. By operating it backwards, while maintaining downward pressure to unlock the bolt, if necessary, the case located in the chamber is ejected. A new cartridge is brought to the elevator rod and the hammer is cocked. By releasing the lever it returns forward chambering the cartridge and it locks. The weapon is ready to fire. Wooden stock plates with central screw fixing. Marking on upper barrel band "E.REMINGTON & SON - ILION - NY RIDERS PAT AUG 15 TH 1871" Ammunition magazine under the barrel, locked by a shutter plug. Spur type trigger. Mechanism in perfect working order. The engineer Joseph RIDER had the idea of adapting the mechanism of repeating rifles with cylindrical and lever magazine to a pocket weapon.
