Magnificent secretary, chest of drawers or 18th century English scriban desk from the George III period in mahogany. This beautiful mahogany scriban desk opens with a flap concealing six drawers, six open lockers, a locker closed by a door and 2 small secret compartments which open with pull columns. It has four belt drawers (of different dimensions). Around the first drawer are two side support pulls to open the writing desk flap. This wonderful English secretary desk rests on four scrolled legs. The pull handles and locks are in gilded brass in the style of what was done in France under Louis XV. Very beautiful piece of furniture full of charm and a wonderful witness to 18th century English history. Georgian Period - England - 18th
