"Sitzendorf Porcelain Table Mirror - Late 19th Century"
Table mirror in Sitzendorf Porcelain, with blue marking visible in blue behind the couple of putti holding a garland of flowers. This mark, similar to those of the Meissen crossed swords, was used around 1885-90. Created in 1850, the Sitzendorf porcelain workshops were to compete with the Saxon industry, and this mirror, like the majority of productions, was intended for export. The mirror takes the shape of the Louis XVI oval with gold edging, adding these garlands of flowers and polychrome petals overflowing onto the mirror. On the back, a blackened pear wood plaque characteristic of the end of the 19th century holds a tab to place it on the table. 2 roses are slightly damaged, but this remains minimal. However, the ice is in perfect condition, which is rare.
