Royal Worcester, Porcelain Twin Vase Art Nouveau Period

ROYAL WORCESTER: rare twin vase, in colored double-paste porcelain, decorated on both sides, with gold and platinum marine mollusk motifs on English green porcelain paste, lined inside with white porcelain. English work from the Royal Worcester factory, bearing the seller's labels of ''AB Daniell & Sons, Wigmore street London'', late 19th century.

From the 1860s, the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company was able to establish itself on the market thanks to the personality and heightened curiosity of its owner: Richard William Binns, notably acquiring various successes during the Universal Exhibitions of 1873 and 1876. and 1878. Able to work by adapting to several aesthetics, the overall production testifies to his personal attraction and particularly oriented towards the Orient - both Persian and Sino-Japanese. This syncretism contributes to delivering pieces, like our vase, of completely astonishing and remarkable modernity. In addition to its completely original shape, its decorative aspect gives it a certain timelessness. Although refined, particularly in terms of polychromy, its effectiveness is not to be outdone. For manufacturing, this new era embodies a true renaissance, because far from being confined to a taste acquired in the matter since the 18th century, England thereby manages to assert itself on the contemporary market. As such, the Metropolitan Museum in New York has in its collections a copy similar to ours. Formally more consensual, and on an ivory background, it nevertheless transcribes the same ornamental lexicon.

Conditions: in good condition, tiny small restorations from use, not visible.
