Renée Lubarow (1923 Seyssins – Grenoble 2017)
The French painter and engraver, Renée Lubarow, born in 1923 in Seyssins in Isère and died in 2017, trained at the School of Decorative Arts in Grenoble. In 1951, she went to Paris where, in 1957, she began to study at the Painting Academy of Henri Goetz, then, in 1960, at the Engraving Workshop of Johnny Friedlaender. Drawing teacher, she paints, but above all she focuses on engraving. She participates in group exhibitions and multiplies personal exhibitions in Europe and the United States. These are mainly engravings, sometimes in diptychs or triptychs, which are exhibited. Following the example of her master Friedlaender, Renée Lubarow has a perfect practice of color engraving. In her works she combines forms from reality with abstract visions, thus creating a personal world made of elements that are either constructed or organic and plant-based.
