This console is typical of the work of Giuseppe Parvis: large Italian cabinetmaker, he settled in Cairo in 1859 and he was inspired by all the elements of architecture and decor that he could see everywhere in Egypt to create his own style of Arabic furniture.
He very quickly furnished the beautiful Egyptian residences, then thanks to its participation in Universal and International Exhibitions, conquer the European market.
The photos that can still be found of his store bear witness to the profusion of his creations; after the Mamluk taste, it will be inspired by the ornamentations and decor characteristic of ancient Egypt
