Mercier Frères in Paris Beautiful sideboard in speckled mahogany. It opens with two doors and four molded drawers. Rounded corners with shelves, large rounded fluted uprights. Fluted spindle feet. Mirror (removable) framed in gilded bronze with lictor's beams. Brèche de Seravezza marble top with reversed cavet. Rich ornamentation of gilded bronzes: florets, ingot mold, openwork galleries with ovates, laurel pulling handles and lictor's bundles, rings, asparagus tips, sabots, acanthus apron. Rack lock, oak frame. Manufacturer's plate "Mercier Frères in Paris". Highly crafted piece of furniture, circa 1870.
