"Dogon Monkey Altar Mask Mali"
Superb Dogon monkey mask with a very refined, cubist design, height 33 cm, good condition. This mask which has a significant crusty patina is undoubtedly an altar mask, certain masks in fact after having been used for dancing could be found as a fetish object on an altar and therefore receive all kinds of offerings and ritual projections based on flour, beer, earth...Probably 2nd half of the last century.
