Rare: Shell casing decorated with an aircraft combat from the First World War of 14/18. It faithfully represents the French plane that won this fight and the German enemy plane shot down in free fall, with a trail of smoke. Good condition. Height 35 cm. To fill the downtime between battles, soldiers got into the habit of making souvenirs from the materials that the war made available to them. Most intended these souvenirs for their families, others resold them to comrades with less manual skills or to civilians, in order to slightly improve their meager pay as mobilized soldiers.
