INDIA, Kerala, 19th century Uruli basin, Bronze.
A bronze uruli with two handles on each side. It is typical of urulis produced in state of Kerala, South India, where they were used in cooking for preparation of meals for major events, but also for preparation of Ayurvedic medicines.
Today, uruli have a more decorative use, and are often displayed in homes or used as receptacles for floating floral arrangements."
