This cubist/ expressionist painting by Patrick Boudon in the 1970s is very close to an Art Informel, or "informal art," is an artistic movement that developed in Europe after World War II. Characterized by expressive freedom and a break from traditional forms, Art Informel influenced many artists of the time.

Boudon's works from this period reflect his exploration of informality and abstract expressionism. The vibrant colors and thick material on the canvas create a sense of energy and movement, just like an urban landscape in constant transformation.
The influence of the Cobra group, a European artistic movement that promoted spontaneous and primitive art, is evident in Boudon's works. This group had a strong inclination towards urban art and free expression, and Boudon seems to have absorbed these influences in his work.
In summary, this abstract composition painted by Patrick Boudon in the 1960s is an exciting journey through colors, shapes, and materials, capturing the soul of a Paris in artistic and cultural ferment.

Patrick Boudon, a distinguished artist born in 1944 in Florac, Lozère, was recognized for his exceptional talent in drawing from an early age.
His artistic journey began in earnest in 1962 when he enrolled at the Paris Academy of Fine Arts, completing his studies in 1965. Boudon's debut exhibition took place in 1963 at the Raymond Duncan gallery in Paris.

Over the years, Boudon's work gained international acclaim, with exhibitions held in prestigious venues such as the Mafalda Davis Gallery in New York and the Salsomaggiore Gallery in Italy. His global presence continued to expand with a notable exhibition at the Fiera de Santana museum in Brazil in 1982.

In the 1970s, Boudon embarked on an ambitious venture, establishing the GAMP (Galleries - Modern Workshops of Paris), a creative hub where artists from various disciplines converged and created.
Initially known for his vibrant abstract paintings, Boudon's style evolved significantly after an encounter with Picasso, which introduced figurative elements into his art. His signature style featured exaggerated heads and hands and recurring motifs, often exploring the complexities of human relationships.

Tragically, a significant portion of Boudon's oeuvre was lost in a fire that destroyed his studio.
He passed away in Montmartre, Paris, in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and artistic exploration.
