Thirty Years' War (1618 - 1648 & English Civil War 1642-1651) XVII°. Capeline called lobster tail or Lobster tail pot Helmet. Riveted pointed visor with sliding nose bar bearing “M” hallmark, fixed by a heart-shaped screw. Visor tip bearing “R” hallmark on top. Wrought iron bomb with 6 reinforcing edges consisting of a stamp forming a cap with 1 ring on the top, a visor, a nasal and a nape. Half-spherical shaped stamp with fluted appearance. Visor cut into a brace riveted to the crown with a protruding edge brought inwards and matted. Arched nasal, mobile and adjustable by means of a flattened grip rod. Neck cover made up of 4 independent pieces held together by rivets and connected together by riveted pieces of leather. Model without mumps. Probably German 17th century manufacturing, DIE ZIS CHAGGE. Cavalry and arquebusier helmet from the 1st third of the 17th century, typical of the "Hundred Years' War and English Civil War" periods. It was gradually abandoned at the end of the 17th century. Inspired by the OTTOMAN Turkish helmet from the 16th century with its sliding nasal bar and a neck protection in the shape of a lobster tail, hence its English nickname LOBSTER TAIL POT HELMET This helmet comes from the private collection of Mr Bél, state of conservation and use, in its original condition. its patina, see the details in the photos.
