Burma, mid-20th century, very pretty loom pulley carved from a single piece of wood depicting a Nat (or Nak). He is shown standing on top of the pulley with his hands clasped. The Nats or Naks are princely figures deified in Burma for many centuries in parallel with Buddhism. Their cult is practiced with the aim of obtaining particular protections. High quality production restoring the beauty of the details. Height 19.7 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone.
