"Saber Drum Major, Circa 1814-1816, First Empire - Restoration"
Guard with one branch, in gilded bronze, richly decorated. Right guard branch representing a series of foliage and feathers ending at the top with a tray decorated with a palmette. Crook-shaped cap decorated with foliage, palm leaves and lightning; on the front a lion's head is depicted. Finely squared ebony handle. Straight cruise decorated with geometric designs ending at the front with a beast's head and at the back with a goat's head, in the center a medallion represents the face of the sun against a background of wings. Straight blade with a hollow side devoid of any decoration, it is signed "Klingenthal". L 720 mm, W 38 mm, W back 7 mm. Weight: 921 grams. Wooden scabbard covered in black patent leather with three large gilded brass fittings engraved with foliage, drum shako spider webs, trophies with drum major canes and ribbons. L 750 mm, l 52 mm at the level of the bowl and 64 mm at the level of the stinger. Weight: 773 grams.
