"Service Spode's Imperial"
Blue and gold serving part in English earthenware comprising 10 pieces: 1 sauce boat with lid and its saucer 1 sauce boat with lid 2 oval dishes with crack (see photos) 1 soup plate 1 small plate 4 flat plates Each piece bears the Spode's Imperial brand in blue or black. No. 4274 on certain parts. The main design depicts an array of rocks, flowers, foliage, fruit and water with a frog jumping out of the water onto a plant. Earthenware created by Josiah Spode from 1784c to 1833. Circa 1805-1833 (ref: encyclopedia of british pottery by Geoffrey A. Golden page 589) Some slightly yellowed pieces.
