MARINHO DA COSTA Jaildo 1970 Oblique lines N°202 -2004 Acrylic on canvas laminated on wood Signed, titled and dated water reverse 60 x 71cm Jaildo Marinho, born October 26, 1970 in Santa Maria da Boa Vista is a Franco-Brazilian sculptor and painter whose work is situated in the movement of geometric abstraction and contemporary constructed art. During his early years in Paris, Jaildo Marinho met Michel Seuphor who would have a determining influence on the rest of his career. These same Parisian years of Jaildo Marinho were also marked by the meetings of older artists of South American origin established since the 1950s in the French capital, such as Jesús Rafael Soto, Carmelo Arden Quin, Narciso Debourg and Cícero Dias who supported his career. Since 1996, Jaildo Marinho has regularly participated in the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and the Grands et Jeunes d'Aujourd'hui salon. He became a professor at the ADAC – Sculpture and Art Foundry Workshop of the City of Paris and made casts for the Louvre Museum.
