The coastal scene with unloading of fishing catches was executed in 1832 by the French landscape and marine painter Eugène Raymond Goethals (1804 Bordeaux - 1864 Paris).
Student of the famous marine painter Baron Theodor Gudin. Exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1835 - 1864 with its coastal views of Normandy, Calvados, Gironde. He is a good, but until now almost completely forgotten, representative of the Fontainebleau School. At the Calvet museum in Avignon there are two marine works by him.
