Rare cult figure called "Yena" collected in the Washkuk hills area in Papua New Guinea. Kwoma ethnic group. The Yena figures are linked to the cult of the yam. They are placed above a large pile of tubers during the first ceremony (there are 3 in all) organized at harvest time, and which aims to thank the ancestors for this sacred gift and ensure a good harvest the following year.
