Very beautiful tortoiseshell snuffbox with rare hair marquetry work. With in its center a miniature on ivory representing a vestal maintaining the sacred fire. Can be a gift with a promise of chastity. Exterior frame in gold (14k) and certainly the same for that around the miniature. The glass is missing, and the frame is therefore not fixed.
