Coming from a family of artists, Piero Focardi made his debut at the age of fifteen at the Promotrice di Belle Arti in Florence with two paintings clearly inspired by the late Macchiaiolo naturalism of his father Ruggero. Having approached the technique of color decomposition, he then achieved a completely autonomous style, becoming part of Alberto Grubicy's gallery and becoming one of the major representatives - with Cesare Maggi, Leonardo Dudreville and Carlo Prada - of the latest pointillist generation. Present with nine works at the Salon des Peintres Divisionistes Italiens organized in 1907 in Paris by Grubicy himself, he achieved good success, exhibiting again in Amsterdam, in 1911, and in London, in 1912. Always dedicated to landscape painting, he specialized in views of Lake Garda, which exhibits in important events in Italy and abroad. In 1937 he moved permanently to France.
