Maison Krieger, Chest of Drawers In Louis XVI Style Marquetry from the End of the 19th Century Lovely and Rare Chest of Drawers Inlaid With Rosewood, Mahogany and Amaranth With Trellis Decor. This Resting on Tapered and Fluted Feet Ending in Gilt Bronze Clogs. This Chest of Drawers Opening with Three Drawers on Three Rows on the Front is Trimmed with a Pretty Veined Cream Marble Top with Reversed Cavet. Its Rounded Uprights with Flutes. Beautiful and Rich Ornamentation of Gilt and Finely Chiseled Bronze Such as Lock Entrances, Pull Handles, Clogs, Rings, Chutes, Baguettes. Has his Key. Rare furniture of great quality of execution and finish, superb quality of bronze, attributed to La Grande Maison Krieger. Maison Krieger began its cabinetmaking activity in the middle of the 19th century with Antoine Krieger (1804-1869) before adding a large decoration department which ensured the prestige of its business until around 1945. Maison Krieger executed all plans and designs in ancient and modern styles. A thousand workers worked in the workshops at 74-76 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris, producing luxury and more common furniture. The workmanship, however, of very high quality guaranteed interiors in well-chosen oak or mahogany decorated with selected veneer woods. The Krieger house obtained a 2nd class medal at the London Universal Exhibition of 1851 and also presented works during numerous international exhibitions such as in Paris in 1855.
