HE FOLLOWED FINE ARTS IN LYON AT BONNEFOND, THEN IN PARIS AT PICOT; HE OBTAINED THE ROME PRIZE AND SPENT FIVE YEARS IN ITALY AND RETURNED TO PARIS.
SHORTLY AFTER HE GOES TO EGYPT WHERE PRINCE HALIM PASHA ORDERED VAST DECORATIVE SCENES FOR HIS PALACE.
IN 1868 HE RETURNED TO PARIS WHERE HE WAS CHARGED BY THE STATE TO COPY THE GREAT FRESCO OF MANTEGNA
IN 1875 HE WAS APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF FINE ARTS OF LYON,
HE RETURNED TO ALGIERS WHERE HE WAS IN 1888
HIS CANVASES ARE EXHIBITED AT THE NICE MUSEUM, FROM LYON, FROM VALENCE HIS CANVAS OFTEN REPRESENT SCENES FROM ALGERIA OR EGYPT TO WHICH THEY GIVE ATTITUDES OF GREAT MAJESTY IN A TRADITIONAL SETTING;
