"Manufacture Nationale De Sèvres, Exceptional Angers Vase, Signed, 1903"
Exceptional vase in cobalt blue porcelain decorated with flowers gilded with gold, Vase d'Angers model, the shape designed by Henri-Ernest Brecy around 1897, the edges of the neck and the base finished in gold. This vase does not in fact have a bottom: it is pierced, and a system allows the vase to be fitted to the base. Thus deprived of any practical function but intended above all for ceremonial purposes, it seems certain that this vase took part in an exhibition. Vase marked with a stamp inside the neck, a "triangular S 1903 Manufacture national de Sèvres", made during the period of Alexandre Sandier (1843-1916).
