Kusu Fetish Statue Republic Of Congo Drc

Superb Kusu male fetish from the DRC, height 46 cm with the base, used condition, dents, cracks, missing parts (the necklace see photo). These fetishes have become very rare, this small ethnic group which lives next to the Hembas on the left bank of the Congo River, borrows style elements from the Hemba and Luba for the face and from the Songye for the bilongo on the skull and the little horn . The design is geometric, even cubist, the hands grouped on the stomach, the stocky limbs, the beautiful meditative face, a magnificent greasy and thick patina of use covers the statue.
