Of Breton origin, Charles Badoisel spent his youth in the North, in Douai, then his family retreated to Angers during the Second World War. This painter practices oil painting, watercolor, gouache, pastel and drawing. From his numerous trips abroad, he filled many notebooks with drawings and watercolors and was inspired by Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Morocco, the United States, Russia. Charles Badoisel will be present in Parisian Salons from the 1950s: Salon of Young Painting, Salon of Independent Artists, Salon of Painters Witnesses of their Time, Salon Comparisons, Salon of Drawing and Water Painting, Salon of Autumn. His works will be exhibited in the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland as well as in numerous French galleries. Creator of the “Salon of paintings and sculptures” in Angers, with his friend Jean Commère, he was its Secretary, from its creation in 1982 until 1988. Charles Badoisel was made Knight of Arts and Letters in 1985.
