"Gold Bracelet, Micro-mosaics And Half-pearls. Early 19th Century"
Bracelet in gold, pearls, aventurine and micro-mosaic. The bracelet is decorated with seven rectangular medallions. Each medallion represents a view of a Roman monument such as the temples of Hercules in Cori, of the Vesta, of the Sybil in Tivoli but also the tomb of Cecilia Metella. They are set in a gold setting decorated with a fine twisted gold thread. The medallions are articulated to each other and decorated with three half-pearls. Period: beginning of the 19th century. This bracelet is characteristic of the objects brought back during the "grand tour" carried out by wealthy Europeans at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century.
