"Tournai - Tournai Soft Porcelain Set - Faux-wood Decor - 3rd. Period"
Very rare and very pretty polychrome Tournai soft porcelain jug with faux-wood decor matched with a cup and saucer in the same decor. The model of the jug is Empire shape with a zoomorphic pouring spout. The beak is decorated with a duck's head and a ribbon of feathers at its base. The handle is decorated with white foliage. The frêtel is in the shape of a torchiere, typically from the Tournaisian factory. Under the base you can see the number 4 indicating the size of the object as well as the letter B probably the potter's signature. The cup and saucer have the same decoration. The details of the decor indicate that the ensemble was part of the same service. Very good state. Dimensions: Jug: Height: 23 cm; width: 16 cm; diameter: 10 cm.
