Student of Victor Prouvé and Friant, he attended the Decorative Arts of Paris. He worked for many years in Lorraine, living in Laître-sous-Amance (54). He settled in Paris after the War. He painted mainly landscapes and after a stay in Morocco he brought back numerous views of cities in this country, hence his classification among the “orientalist” painters. He appeared at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Indépendants from 1909 to 1930. At the Salon de Nancy he exhibited, notably in 1908: Amance, vue du pays, Laître au soleil couchant... in 1909 and 1911 Construction of the Theater of Nancy, Chambre du Téméraire at the Palais Ducal in Nancy, in 1913, two paintings and in 1920, views of Metz and Strasbourg. He was linked to Eugène Corbin who acquired a certain number of his works.
