A rare pair of ormolu candlesticks, skillfully chased and adorned with amatis, ornated with Egyptian-style motifs in the fashion of Bonaparte's ‘retour d'Égypte’. As close as they are to the many series of candlesticks supplied by Claude Galle to Egyptomaniac connoisseurs at the time of the Empire, they have the particularity of being of a rare model, with a very pure, very sober style, and yet remarkable, with the contrast of their gold and black bronze base.
