Court and city sword with silver mount and no donkey under shell from the LOUIS XIV - LOUIS XV period, Late 17th century - early 18th century. Silver frame with spherical pommel and joint arch. No donkey under shell, all beautifully carved with rocaille motifs and interlacing. 2 goldsmiths' hallmarks and title on the guard branch at the height of the donkey, 1 of which in a cartridge bearing the letters "FS", chiseled escutcheon. Lenticular blade with median edge bearing engravings in the 1st third partly erased. Without sheath. Slight play on the shell. Silver swords are awarded to elite corps or are decorated for high-ranking military or civilian personalities.
