Burma, mid-20th century, superb and very important four-tier offering box in gold, red and black lacquer. The circular shape and the edges of the levels drawing beautiful curves give this magnificent piece an extraordinary design. The generous body of the main body is richly decorated with a rotating decoration featuring characters and animals in a rich plant setting. The quality of execution is impeccable and worthy of the most beautiful Burmese creations in the field of lacquerware. These boxes were used by upper-class families to carry offerings to the deities and monks guarding the temples.Substantial dimensions: Height 34 cm. Diameter 37 cm.
