"Sunday In Mourepiane, Marseille "
amusing press sketch around 1930, representing life on Sundays at the Mourepiane cove in Marseille. Certainly made for a local newspaper, this adorable ink drawing describes the friendly hustle and bustle of this popular district of Marseille where people used to come on Sundays in the past, as people still come today a little further away to l'Estaque, to have a good time time by the sea, and eat the famous “chichis fregi”, gourmet donuts. The tram then serves the place. While L'Estaque has still retained its adorable seaside resort character, in Mourepiane there are only a few pretty houses left on the heights, the coastline having been devoured by hangars and port installations. and see! Wow! Nice contemporary frame.
