"Large Pottery Tile In Deep Relief Under Qajar Glaze, Circa 1880"
Scenes from everyday life, such as manual labor, painting, photography, art and safety, are illustrated. Secular representations are very rare in these images and provide insight into the overall lives of men. The Qajar dynasty was an Iranian royal dynasty of Turkish origin, specifically from the Qajar tribe, which ruled Iran from 1789 to 1925. The Qajar family took full control of Iran in 1794, in deposing Lotf 'Ali Khan, the last Shah of the Zand dynasty, and reasserted Iranian sovereignty over large parts of the Caucasus. The painting is beautiful with strong, bold colors. The elegant gradation of blues is exquisite. The tile has probably been restored on a major part. HD photos will be available
