The iris stems are connected together by a ribbon at the bottom from which the leafy stems emerge, iris in bud and open iris protecting the bulbs. The central stem is animated and has a corole of patinated brass in the upper part. The irises of the bulbs are made of sheet metal or patinated brass offering a very nice contrast in tone.
