Yrjö Edelmann (1941, Finland – 2016, Sweden)
Swedish artist, known for his photorealistic paintings. In the late 1950s, he studied drawing at Konstfack in Stockholm. After a study trip to the United States, he came into contact with James Rosenquist and photorealism.
In 1973 he exhibited his paintings for the first time at the Löwenadler Gallery in Stockholm.
Edelmann's trompe l'oeil depictions of packaging and paper products gained him international attention.
He has exhibited in the United States and Japan, among other places.
Works at the Kalmar Art Museum (Sweden).
