"Yari Samurai Spear - Edo Period (1603-1868)."
JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868) Lance Yari of Samurai. Long oak handle. First third of the “E-bu” wooden shaft dressed with wooden “Dougane” bracelets and three brass rings, carmine red lacquered finish, and two gold lacquered braided rope clogs. Just before the latter we find a piece of brown lacquered steel in the shape of a hook. Straight “Ho” spear blade with triangular section and double edge, pronounced tip, called “Hosaki”, as well as the edge called “Shinogi” (light pitting). It is protected by its “Saya” sheath in black lacquered magnolia wood. At the other end a “Hirumaki” black lacquered metal cap to protect the pole from damage by contact with the ground. Dimensions: 218 x 13 x 3.5 cm. Sold with the base. Dimensions with base: 223 x 13 x 3.5 cm
