18k (750°/°°) gold and silver necklace composed of 4 rows of cultured pearls measuring 5.2 to 7.3 mm and a heart-shaped central motif set with a fancy brownish yellow old-cut diamond weighing approx. 0.4 ct (Si2) enhanced by diamond arabesques. Composite foreign work. The central motif dates from the 1880s and was later mounted as a necklace (probably ca. 1960). Presence of the owl hallmark for a foreign 18-carat gold work or of uncertain origin. Note natural wear of the mother-of-pearl on some pearls.
