To be restored (see photos at the spouts) Founded in 910, the abbey of Cluny (Saône-et-Loire) became in the 12th century a monastic and spiritual capital with an unparalleled influence in the medieval West. Even today, the remains of the abbey reveal the past splendor of this masterpiece of Romanesque art. In 1910, the Academy of Mâcon published the proceedings of the History and Archeology Congress entitled Millennium of Cluny. A century later, Éditions du Patrimoine are celebrating the eleventh centenary of the illustrious abbey by bringing together, under the direction of Neil Stratford, the contributions of forty specialists on its history and its cultural role on the scale of France and the 'Europe. The fruit of work and research carried out over several decades, this work aims to transmit an in-depth knowledge of Cluny and its spiritual and artistic influence throughout the medieval West. The beautiful history The Faïencerie de Charolles is a flagship of French heritage, benefiting from know-how known and recognized since 1844. The Faïencerie, with a French and international reputation, is a place steeped in history, which over the years, has seen the birth of collections which signify a certain art of living. In 2019, Cyrille Frappé, official buyer, wishes to breathe new life into the Faïencerie with the desire to combine tradition and modernity, tradition in the preservation of know-how and historical molds and modernity in the new collections, both in lines and chromatic range.
