Saglier Frères et Compagnie Vase with basketry decoration Silver metal and blue tinted glass vase Paris, early 20th century Quality work in Louis XVI style Height: 12.5 cm The vase is composed of a frame and glassware which is placed inside. The frame has a basketwork decoration reminiscent of basket making. The shape, particularly elegant with its flare, is crowned by a frieze of pearls. The goldsmith chose tinted glass in order to have the best contrast with the silver. It is a beautiful work in the Louis XVI style Saglier Frères et Compagnie On the death of the goldsmith Victor Saglier in 1894, the company bearing his name at 12 rue d'Enghien in Paris, became Saglier Frères, managed by his brothers Eugène and André until the latter's death in 1948.
