Henri Rivière, born in 1864 in Paris, died in 1951 in Sucy-en-Brie, is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. Artistic director of the shadow theater at the Chat Noir cabaret from 1886 to 1897, he particularly distinguished himself as a director, scenographer and set designer. From 1882, he devoted himself to printmaking and successively practiced etching, wood engraving and lithography.
