"18th Century George III Period Mahogany Wash Stand"
A fine late 18th century George III period mahogany wash stand. The square top pierced to accommodate a washbowl. The jug and basin would have been pottery. Now with a removable boarded mahogany top. Above arched frieze and lower shelf over a single drawer, and the frieze below repeated as above. Stands upon chamfered legs united by elegant bowed stretchers with a central circular shelf to take the water jug. This Georgian wash stand is in good condition with beautiful representation of the mahogany and a good original patina. The single drawer is also a useful addition. England circa 1790.
