"Hennri Deluermoz (1876-1943) “merchant Lion” Animal Painter, Jouve, Guyot, Margat, Kipling.."
SUPERB oil/paper by Henri Deluermoz representing a merchant lion, signed with the painter's usual monogram at the bottom right. Format of the painting at sight without frame 30x39cm and 48x60cm including frame. This is a magnificent and rare painting on paper by Henri Deluermoz representing a lion, it is indeed an oil on paper and not a drawing or a watercolor, in fact the painter plays with the material oil in shades of Sienna or walnut husk, a sublime drawing in which the artist marvelously masters the representation of animals, his specialty. Indeed, Henri Deluermoz is today one of the best French animal painters alongside Paul Jouve, Margat, Guyot and other Jacques Nam etc...
