Rare and interesting pair of furniture elements, 17th century chest uprights?, in the shape of Atlanteans with the physiognomy of turbaned Hindus, wearing leg jewelry, on a basketwork pattern background. The whole thing is made of walnut wood. A basket of fruit is balanced on the heads of the Atlanteans, it is an ornament regularly represented in particular in the composition of the facades of wedding chests from the 16th and 17th century where Indians are featured, very rarely Hindus.
