The engraving served as a frontispiece to Gabriel Toussaint's work "Granet Provençal and Franciscan Painter" published in 1927. (photo attached) Alexandre Marius Reinaud was born in Aix in 1795, to an engraver father who would introduce him to the engraving technique. He was a student of Constantin at the city's drawing school, who taught him the art of landscape; Reinaud becomes an excellent designer. With his brother Jules, they made numerous engravings, taking charge of producing the preparatory drawings with a precise line. He became a renowned designer and engraver who endeavored to engrave numerous works by Granet, his compatriot. Works at the Granet museums and the old Aix museum.
