The Child Warrior, Gilt Bronze On A Drawing By Léon Messagé, Circa 1880

Rare group in gilded bronze representing the child warrior creation of Léon Messagé for François Linke, this bronze model was available in sculpture on the basis of rare examples and in ornamental bronze, it adorns the most precious furniture creations of François Linke , the quality of the carving is impeccable which leads us to believe that this copy rests on a base. More than a decorative bronze, a collectible bronze, few or no examples currently on the market. Note: Two fixing holes not visible on photos, probably intended to fix the bronze on its base. The slightly worn and patinated gilding is splendid, the solid wood base supports a violet wood veneer.
