Dan Solojoff, born in 1908 and died in 1994, is a Russian painter renowned for his powerful and symbolic compositions. Solojoff has been described as an “elliptical designer and symbolist watercolorist”, notably by Jean-Pierre Delarge. His works, often marked by phosphorescent hues and motifs such as firebirds or mermaids, are characterized by their unity and chromatic harmony. His work betrays the influence of his dual Slavic and French culture. From 1957, Solojoff also undertook a career as an illustrator, collaborating on works by Baudelaire, Verlaine and biblical texts. He has exhibited regularly in France, notably in Lyon and Paris, as well as internationally in cities such as New York, Zurich and Hanover. Her exhibitions have been hosted in prestigious galleries such as the Galerie Katia Granoff in Paris and the Chase Gallery in New York.
