"Mid 18th Century Chelsea Sculpture "
Beautiful porcelain sculpture depicting Africa, small in size. This splendid work was in fact part of a larger group that represented the continents of the world. The figure portrays a child dressed in a blue and white tunic, with a headdress that resembles the skeleton of an elephant. The child holds a cornucopia full of flowers in his hand, while a dog is depicted at his feet. English Chelsea manufacture, mid-18th century.
