Carl Jungheim (1830-1886). painter of the Prussian school of Dusseldorf (Germany). Elegant portrait with a pearl necklace. Oil on canvas in very good condition, signed and dated lower left. Dimensions outside frame: 72.5 x 55 cm. Carl Jungheim was born in Dusseldorf in 1830. From 1847 to 1851, he studied at the city's academy of fine arts with the painters Wihelm von Shadow and Johann Wihel Schirmer. He then made several study trips to Switzerland, the Tyrol region and Italy, notably staying in this country in 1856 in the company of the painters August Leu and Albert Flamm. In 1873, he participated in the Universal Exhibition in Vienna (Austria).
